Product Description

The Formlabs™ Form 4 3D Printer was built for precision, speed, and reliability—making it the go-to choice for industry professionals who require engineering-grade output and an efficient workflow. Its innovative Low Force Display™ Print Engine, next-generation engineering, and intuitive user interface set this machine apart from other resin printers. These technologies are powerful, easy to use, and most jobs are completed in less than two hours.

The Form 4 was inspired by traditional Stereolithography (SLA) and further refined by the Formlabs team. Its supercharged Low Force Display™ (LFD) Print Engine uses a bottom-up printing method with an incredibly powerful backlight and super high-resolution Light Processing Unit (LPU) that expose light from below the resin tank. The LPU screen features a proprietary texture that allows airflow under the resin tank, preventing suction with the tank and minimizing peel force.

As the build platform rises, resin is cured at the bottom of the tank, one layer at a time. Each new layer is gently released with the help of the resin tank's dual-film technology, which features a stretchy film to reduce peel force. As each layer is released from the tank, liquid resin flows into the area and is ready to be cured immediately.

To optimize the printing process, various sensors monitor resin levels, regulate resin temperature, detect debris, provide accurate print status updates, and enable remote monitoring. With the Formlabs Dashboard software (included) and built-in camera (which can be disabled for security), you can remotely manage your prints from just about anywhere.

The Form 4 has a build volume of 20.0 x 12.5 x 21.0 cm (7.9 x 4.9 x 8.3 in).

Features

Complete Accuracy
The Form 4 is designed to produce intricate details and smooth surfaces that rival the precision of injection molding. This printer offers top-tier accuracy and consistency with its 50-micron pixel size, dimensional tolerance ±0.15% XY, and pre-tuned anti-aliasing. With its low peel forces and delicate supports, you'll get a high-quality finish on every print.

Rapid Speed
From prototyping to full-scale production, this printer delivers impressive speed. The Form 4 has outstanding optical power for fast curing, super-high resolution for detailed prints, a bottom-up build that works with gravity, and unique easy-release technologies. The new Form 4 resin formula is dispensed quickly, and sensors and remote monitoring allow you to step away and continue building multiple iterations per day.

High Success Rate
In addition to precision and speed, the Form 4 3D printer features intelligent technologies designed to set you up for success. With the Low Force Display™ Print Engine's amazing optical performance, high resolution, and low peel force, along with the Form 4's integrated sensors and easy-to-use software, the chances of having a failed print are drastically reduced.

Industry-Leading Resins
Take on any project with Formlabs' high-performance resins, created specifically for the Form 4's upgraded dispense system. Choose from a variety of material types, including general purpose, tough, flexible, rigid, flame retardant, and castable. The resin cartridges themselves have been redesigned for quicker dispensing, use 63% less plastic, and take up 30% less shelf space. With the optional Open Material Mode add-on, you can unlock the ability to print with any 405 nm photopolymer resin.

Easy to Use
The Formlabs interface guarantees an easy-to-use experience every time. The Form 4 can be used with both Windows and Mac operating systems, and files can be sent to the printer via Wi-Fi, USB, or Ethernet. The Formlabs Dashboard and PreForm® software are included for an intuitive process that anyone can learn in just 15 minutes. Simply import your 3D model (STL, OBJ, or 3MF) into PreForm, modify the X and Y axes, and the software will automatically create supports as needed.
