Here's how it works: In traditional SLA, a laser is projected onto liquid resin and cured layer by layer to create precise models. What makes the Form 4 unique is its innovative Low Force Display™ Print Engine, an inverted Stereolithography method that positions high-powered optical components below the resin, rather than above. Instead of printing top-down like other SLA printers, a cross-section is traced on the base layer of resin and is backfilled as the build platform. This allows liquid resin to flow underneath each previously cured layer, resulting in faster print times.

In addition to precision and speed, the Form 4 3D printer sets you up for an unmatched success rate. Several integrated sensors are at work to provide validated print settings, precision heating, force sensing, debris detection, print status, and remote monitoring. An empty tank can be filled in just minutes, with the new valve system being 5-10x faster than the Form 3. The resin cartridges themselves have been redesigned to enable quicker dispensing and material changes, while also occupying 30% less shelf space and using 63% less plastic. You can get any job done with Formlabs' general purpose, tough, rigid, flexible, flame retardant, castable, and polyurethane materials. Additionally, Open Material Mode is an optional Form 4 add-on that gives you the freedom to print with any 405 nm photopolymer resins.

Easy to Use
Despite its advanced technologies, the Formlabs interface guarantees an easy-to-use experience every time.
